Agnes grew up on an island in Norway, with a Godfather with Down Syndrome and an autistic sister.

Becoming a disability nurse, and seeing the challenges and adversity her sister faced, Agnes became passionate about supporting young autistic people.

Agnes moved from Norway to Australia six years ago, embarking on a journey that has allowed her to make a significant impact in the fields of disability care, autism and accessible tourism. With over 13 years of experience in disability nursing, Agnes has developed a deep understanding of the neurodivergent community.

Despite launching a tourism startup just before the challenges brought by COVID-19, Agnes successfully built and established the business Travengers AU – Autism Travel, assembling a dedicated team of over 20 individuals and an expert advisory board.

Agnes’s expertise and passion lies in accessible tourism, autism support, neurodivergency, and social impact. Agnes was recognised as a finalist in the Outstanding Young Business Leader category at the 2021 Business NSW Awards in Sydney.

Notably, Agnes won Kickstarter’21, presented by Sefa Partnerships, and received a $15,000 grant from the Macquarie Bank Foundation. In 2022, she participated in the Scaling Impact Accelerator program, further honing their skills and knowledge, and in 2022 Travengers AU was finalist in NSW Tourism Awards.

Throughout Agnes’s journey, she has served over 200 young people through Travengers, established in Sydney and Melbourne, and continues to work towards the goal of being the world’s leading autism travel company, creating a world where travel, social connection and belonging is a given for neurodivergent people.

In 2022 she discovered her own ADHD, and got diagnosed in 2024, which has lead her to an even deeper understanding.

In 2023, Agnes and Travengers were featured on the national news segment ABC 7.30 during prime time, highlighting the impact of their work. Furthermore, they were headhunted by the international tourism fund UnTours Foundation, securing funding, with the support of Expedia in 2023. She has also received grant funding from City of Parramatta.

Agnes’s journey is a testament to the power of dedication, passion, and a commitment to making the world more inclusive and accessible for all.
